China Expanding The Internet Firewall

The Chinese government in its er, wisdom, has decided to expand the scope of its censorship. This is in a bid to “purify” the internet for the citizens. Well, where does one begin? I have to admit that we here at the Digest were rather disappointed to see that we are not blocked at the Great Firewall of China. We feel so…unclean. How have we failed in this matter? 1. It’s not that easy. Your blog host is a bigger factor in whether you are blocked than your content. Blogspot, LiveJournal and Wordpress are usually blocked. Typepad is not.

    2. Why do you want to be blocked. Wouldn’t it be better if the Chinese could see your site? Isn’t that what you purport to want?

You are very correct with respects to the Chinese people being able to read the site. I agree. I’m just an overly sarcastic fella.
