Trojans For Dummies

If it wasn’t bad enough that we have to fight the continual onslaught of malware and such we now find Shark 2. The Register has an article about this new piece of software that makes it beyond dirt simple for ne’er do wells to knock out their own trojans. Simply by pointing and clicking.

Virus creation toolkits have been available for years, but have mostly been restricted to the creation of mass mailing worms and their ilk. DIY phishing kits that dumb down the process of constructing fraudulent websites began about two years ago. Shark 2 makes the process of infecting targets for phishing attacks or performing other malign actions easier than ever. It means money making malware rackets are no longer the preserve of those with at least some programming skills.

The software is slick and shows that malware writers are in it for the big bucks. No surprises there. Shark 2 even has built in routines to defeat debuggers. Albeit temporarily.
