Security Briefing: October 2nd

newspapera.jpg

And we’re back. Sorry about missing yesterday’s “briefing” post. I was out of the office for most of the day. I want to say thanks to our subscriber base for their patronage. Now, being the stats junkie that I am (well, from this site’s perspective) I know that there are several hundred readers per day and I would like to extend a question to everyone. How can I improve the site? Feel free to drop me a line at (g AT liquidmatrix DOT org).

And now, the news…

  1. Brute force attack yields keys to Google’s kingdom
  2. Owning Big Brother: Hollywood-style Exploits Included!
  3. Ups and Downs of Information Security
  4. Google Fixes Gmail Cross-site Request Forgery Vulnerability
  5. ARTEL Chosen to Secure the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s IT Networks
  6. When Google is faster than your Security Procedure
  7. TIOTI: The Social TV-Torrent Network Goes Live Today
  8. eBay replaces Skype chiefs, takes 1.43 bln charge
