Red Cross Website Hacker Jailed

Well, at least there is a little bit of karma left in the world. A hacker thought it would be a good idea to hack into the Chinese Red Cross and set up a skim for earthquake donations. Well that cost him two years.

From Xinhua:

Yang Litao, a staff member of a network technology company in south China’s Shenzhen City, was accused of hacking into the Kunshan Municipal Red Cross Foundation website in May and changing the donation bank account number to his own in order to syphon off money, a Kunshan Municipal People’s court ruling said. He had opened a bank account using a false name for the purpose.

The greed of some people never fails to amaze me.
