DEFCON Badge FAIL

Yup, that’s right… I went early to get a badge, and by some time prior to 14:30, they were out.

Apparently something (unclear) to do with shipping.

And this after the “leak” with Wired’s Threat Level.

Oh, HOPE and Blackhat roundup postings soon, I swear.

Yeah that sucked. I was in track 1 at 10:00 and it was a cool explanation of how the badge developed and what not, but they had some major problems with getting their parts through Chinese customs. They didn’t get the badges until about 3-4 days prior to DEFCON. Pretty crazy. They ran out on Thursday and on Friday when the new shipments came in. The lines were so damn long on Friday I just said screw it. I happened to walk by the registration desk on Sunday and there were no lines and plenty of extra badges, so that’s when I swapped my paper badge out.
