Sometimes you have to see it to believe it. I snapped this picture (as you can see from my reflection) at an undisclosed location in the greater Toronto area. This document shredder truck had the engine running. The window was rolled down. And the management panel was, as you can see, open to anyone walking by.

Thankfully this crew wasn’t on contract at my day job.

I checked.

    That’s funky.
    But can you actually do anything with that panel? …I mean, except shred stuff… ;)

    In fact I know this kind of shred truck, even open it’s not dangerous, you can not acces the shredder anytime while the shredder is on…. So don’t worry the driver of the truck wasn’t doing anything wrong… or dangerous….

    @Raph

    The problem was that the keys were in the ignition with the engine running. Door was unlocked as was the back of the truck. The danger is in the fact that someone could pinch the truck and go collect to be shredded docs from other companies. Dumpster diving to go.
    :)
