Memorex Traveldrive

Here’s an article from Gizmodo that I agree with…sort of. I picked up a Memorex Traveldrive back in December and couldn’t be more pleased. With 2GB on a USB I’m never at a shortage for personal space. Although this won’t help you with the dolt on the subway that has yet to embrace the marvels of modern hygene. It will help you with a place to store those important docs that you might need in a pinch. This is a no fuss drive. No additional software provided (at least that was the case when I bought it back in December) and it runs properly. I’m not big on the U3. Rather, I’ve added some tools onto mine that allow me to have a desk to go. I have loaded up some applications from Portable Apps.com. Once loaded I run the application PStart which runs a menu system from my USB key. This in turn drives my Firefox, Thunderbird, and various forensic tools. This USB drive allows me to jump from one computer to another in the office. As well it gives me the ability to be up and running quickly if I had to move to another building in a DR exercise. Great drive.Gizmodo Link

  1. Not a fan of the U3 software as commented in the gizmodo article.
Reason being when different drives with U3 software are used on
a M$ OS it causes issues with the usb ports.

Other than that the Memorex is handy and works. You can also uninstall
    U3 software. http://www.u3.com/uninstall/

Newegg has a Kingston 4gb for the same price.

Also have you had a chance to check out the 32gb flash drives?
Think there have been articles on the Corsair.
