I’ve always enjoyed listening to the podcasts. In this episode, I’ve one query and another interesting point of view to share (hope my comment doesn’t get censored as it’s related to Panama leaks).
My query – Is Germany really the homeland of data protection?
I do agree with the observation that if the files get into the hands of the crooked (drug dealers as rightly pointed out) it’ll surely be a doomsday.
China has censored discussion on Panama (Fonseca) files on Weibo as names of the most powerful leaders in the country have surfaced. I believe Chinese people already have grown up under regulations and lack of free speech. So, this is not a big issue there, I believe. When it concerns the President Xi Jinping himself, I believe these panama file revelations will surely create a dent on his image, especially when he’s carrying forward rectification campaigns in China. Let’s see what conspires in the coming days.As you rightly pointed out, it’s all about maintaining “public order”.
And do you really believe it’s an email hack. Don’t tell me. Such terabyte of huge data can’t be done in one hacking attempt. Until and unless there’s a insider job, such huge security breach can’t even happen.
Germany and Data Protection… might not be number one, but the USA is approximately number LAST on the list.
We don’t censor, we just wait around until the weekend when we approve comments.
I can exfil a terabyte without you even noticing – depending on how broken you are and how easily I got in – if it was as simple as a reverse shell because you clicked a link in an email, I’ve got your terabyte.
