I know that I’ve been delinquent in delivering the pictures from RSA. I swear that they’re coming, however, I had a little altercation with FileVault on OSX that I’d rather not discuss… umkay?

Of news to note however, the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Justice (League) has released an interesting PIR (Post Incident Review for those of you not in ITIL hell) regarding the ability of the USA’s premier crime-fighting and evidence gathering organization in retrieving lost laptops. It seems that not only does the FBI lose as many laptops as a Big-4 accounting firm, but also, can’t seem to account for what sorts of information is actually on the laptops.

I’m sorry, but I’m just absolutely out of words.

I went through secondary screening because I had two laptops and a poster in a tube (thanks Lumeta!!) and somehow, I’m pretty sure that the 51 laptops containing sensitive information are probably a bigger target for badness than a pudgy geek from Canada.
