Microsoft is starting to ramp up the marketing for the whole disk encryption afforded by BitLocker. This will be included with the next release of their operating system, Vista. The Reg article addresses the coming headbutt session. Now PGP is a good and easy to use solution. BitLocker on the otherhand is dependent on hardware. Specifically it leverages the 1.2 specification TPM chip and this has only just started shipping his some Gateway systems in the last month. PGP has no such dependency.
