UPDATE: “US Airways tells us a data center power outage at a Phoenix data center has knocked out their airport and web-based computer systems.” < -so a power loss to ONE data center took out all of their computer systems? Holy hell.

  1. Ah, I remember this. This was the day I was stuck in Charlotte, and to avoid having to stay overnight, I took a flight to Chattanooga instead of Knoxville (home). Because of freak hail storms we had a month or two earlier in East Tennessee, there were no rental cars available in Chattanooga. Instead, I had to take a $212 taxi to Knoxville airport, where I picked up my car in long-term parking and went home.

By the way, US Airways employees were really shitty during the outage, and I haven’t used USAir since, unless I absolutely had to due to lack of choices to get somewhere.
